Our Drama Mama - Cathy Jenkins

It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our friend and hair goddess, Cathy Jenkins.
'Mama Jenkins' was a integral part of the Howell High School Theater Department and put a lot of love and dedication into our productions. We don't know what we are going to do without her.

Anyone who was lucky enough to know and work with Cathy will remember her big smile and infectious laugh. She was always there to listen and support everyone.

Cathy always said her greatest accomplishment was her daughters, Taylour & Paige. She was extremely proud of them and was always bragging about them. Taylour & Paige, please know that you are in our hearts and prayers.

Visitation will be Friday 2-8 p.m. with services Saturday 11 a.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Once On This Island Update

There is a snow day tomorrow (Monday December 17, 2007), so we will not be having rehearsal after school. We will not be making this rehearsal up before break, but you still need to do a few things. All Grandhommes and the following characters: Asaka, Agwe, Erzulie, Papa Ge, Ton Ton Julian, Mama Euralie, Daniel, Ti Moune, and Andrea need to come to the Black Box on Wednesday during lunch so we can take measurements for your costumes. **If you are at the 9th grade campus, we will contact you about getting your measurements. **

All cast members need to see Malo or Matt Radick sometime before they leave for break so we can give you your score and a copy of the CD. They will be available Wednesday, 12/19/07. **If you are at the 9th grade campus, we will bring them to you **

Thank you to everyone who tried out. This was a very hard decision and we appreciate everyone’s hard work and effort.
You can get your script from Malo at the first rehearsal on Monday, 12/17. Rehearsal will go from 3:00-5:00. Everyone is called and it is mandatory that you be there. Please come prepared to MOVE because we are blocking TWO numbers! First we will block 'We Dance' which everyone is in and then 'Rain'. We will also be taking measurements for costumes.

Once on This Island Cast List

The cast list will be posted on Friday, December 14 as soon as it is approved by administration. The policy at Howell High School is you need a 2.0 GPA or above to be involved in a production. I will submit my list first thing Friday morning and wait for the approval. It will also be posted outside the Black Box door. (The one closest to the guidance office)

We had so many talented people try out that it is going to be a very difficult decision. Thank you to everyone who auditioned!

12/7 - DURING ALL LUNCHES - if you are interested in the role of Ti Moune or being part of the dance troupe, you can come learn the dance. Someone will be available to teach the 9th graders on Monday, 12/10 afterschool.
