THURSDAY DECEMBER 6: BECOME PART OF THEATRE HISTORY!

Howell ITS has been invited to participate in a script reading of a brand new musical comedy called “SWAMP OPERA”. This is a unique opportunity to see how theatre is created.

The story, written by local author, Shirley Mitchell is the tale of the American Classic folk song: “Froggy Went A Courtin”. And you can best believe this is not your pasty, pallid fairy tale! Murder, mayhem, romance….and a vegetarian cat are just part of the story.

The music is the collaboration of Shirley and her husband Stuart (also known as the nationally known comedian/entertainer Heywood Banks…check out his web site at http://www.heywoodbanks.com/).

The world premiere of this musical is scheduled for September 2008 in Howell and our ITS students will be providing valuable input into the script workshop process.

There are roles for 15 readers and plenty of entertainment for all listeners!

Join us in the Parker Black Box after school and become part of the creative history of this Broadway Bound musical!
