The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority
Seeking 15 Volunteers to Portray Historical Figures
at the Inaugural Historic Cemetery Twilight Tour of Lakeview Cemetery in Howell
The area's founding citizens will rise to recall their glorious lives on guided twilight walks through Lakeview Cemetery in Howell conducted by costumed volunteers on Friday, October 10 and Friday, October 24 from 4:30 - 7 p.m.
The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority is seeking 15 volunteer community members to portray historical figures. The only requirements that are needed for cast members include availability, getting dressed up in historical costume, and being an articulate and engaging speaker over the age of 16 (NOTE: all gravesites that will be showcased are adult figures and we are looking for individuals who can portray adults.) All volunteers must be available both Friday evenings in October from 4-7 p.m. and for a rehearsal on Tuesday, October 7 at 6 p.m. First person scripts are being written by the Howell Area Historical Society that will recount the stories from the founding families of Howell including the McPhersons and the Thompsons, to the first woman doctor who practiced in Howell, to revolutionary war and civil war soldiers, to Frank Bush who is renowned as the person who named Peanut Alley in downtown Howell.
If you are interested in portraying one of our historical characters, please call Debbie Mikula, at 517/546-0693 ext. 7702.
